Review: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique - Disney Springs

During our Disney vacation I wanted to treat the girls to a special mother-daughter experience with the hope that they would hold the memories close to their hearts for a lifetime. Although there was no pomp and circumstance surrounding their births, they are and will always be our precious princesses. I declared that this day would be all about them and they would be treated to a day of beauty at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

 A Grand Surprise

When we first arrived at Disney Springs everyone was looking around at all of the stores and attractions, so the girls really didn't notice the boutique. As we walked closer my oldest daughter read the sign on the front of the building and figured out the surprise. A very nice women welcomed us inside what is described as an enchanted beauty salon that offers magical makeovers. The boutique is said to be owned by Cinderella's Fairy Godmother and operated by her apprentices. Upon entering the boutique we were immediately greeted by the person at the front desk, and within minutes escorted to a dressing room so the girls could change into their royal attire. The princesses were introduced to their very own Fairy Godmothers-in-training who then began the royal head-to-toe transformations, including hair, nails and make-up.

Tip - Saving on Princess Dresses

In addition to the primping and pampering, the boutique has all the necessary garments and accessories a princess could ever want. They offer a large array of princess gowns, shoes, crowns and wands for purchase, but they're expensive. My oldest daughter was over the princess dresses and opted to wear her own clothes, but we have bought her princess dresses from both Disney World and Disneyland in the past. Our youngest daughter lives for dresses, but I didn't want to spend a lot so I picked up her princess dress, crown, shoes and wand at Toys R Us, for $5 per dress after Halloween last year.

Makeover Review

Honestly, I was nervous about the girls having their hair styled. They are African American and I wasn't sure if their Fairy Godmothers-in-training would manipulate their hair with patience and care. I read reviews on Trip Advisor about girls crying and not having pleasant experiences. I watched like a hawk, but I had nothing to worry about, as the stylists were well trained and used similar techniques as our own hair dresser and myself when styling the girls hair. I was quite impressed with their hair, nails and makeup! They spoke to the girls as if they really were their Fairy Godmothers and the girls enjoyed playing along. Both girls were treated like princesses and loved the experience and still talk about it often!

 Pricing

This was a pricey outing, but I don't mind spending money on experiences because I know they'll never forget that day. The Princess packages at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Disney Springs range in price from $59.99 - $199.99. We selected The Crown Package (starting at $59.95), including:
  • Hair-styling
  • Shimmering make-up, face gem
  • Princess sash and cinch bag
  • Crown
  • Mickey Barrette
  • Nail polish

My girls and I had a wonderful morning at the boutique and they looked so beautiful. The Fairy Godmothers-in-training were sweet and patient with each girl and made them feel special. At the end of the session, they were even given a rain bonnet to protect their new hair dos. They were truly treated like princesses and every aspect of care was taken into consideration. It really was a magical experience!

I couldn't have them all dressed up with no place to go. One more surprise, time to go to the Castle at Magic Kingdom for lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table...next!
