The Tree of Life |
After spending a couple days at Magic Kingdom, we switched gears and headed over to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Each Disney park offers unique experiences, and Animal Kingdom is different from any amusement Park we've ever visited. There is truly something for everyone: rides, shows, animals and amazing restaurants.
Animal Kingdom Attractions:
The Festival of the Lion King
A beautiful interactive show filled with brilliant colors, lively singing, puppets, and acrobatics all celebrating Simba becoming the king in the great Circle of Life. The Lion King is my favorite Disney animated movie, and I loved every minute of this show.
Kilimanjaro Safari
We took a journey in a cool open-air vehicle into what felt like a real African safari. It's an 18-minute expedition into the Harambe Wildlife Reserve, described as a 110-acre animal sanctuary. The safari is absolutely amazing, and you can see so many beautiful majestic creatures up close and personal. Some animals get so close that you could reach out and touch them, but that's not allowed. We loved it, it's like going to the coolest zoo ever!

The Boneyard
A playground that looks like a dinosaur dig site, where kids can run, climb and play on a soft surface.
DinoLand U.S.A
We had a lot of fun playing games and hanging out in DinoLand. You do have to pay extra for the carnival style games, but the kids won lots of stuffed animals to bring home. The kids also rocked out in a hula hoop dance party.
Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
This thrilling roller coaster speeds through the icy Himalayas backward and forward. This was my oldest daughters first big roller coaster and she was scared, but wants to do it again next time.
The Jungle Book: Alive With Magic Live Show
We
also booked a dining and show package, which included lunch at Tusker
House and preferred seating at The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic
show. The show featured scenes from the latest Jungle Book movie, with an Indian flare. This was an awesome night time show! I thought is was unique and creative how they used water as a screen to show the movie clips and the Indian dancing and music was brilliantly done. We were delighted and lucky to have the opportunity to see this show when we did, because it is no longer being shown at the park.
Tree of Life Awakenings
The animal spirits inside the tree are said to be awakened and come alive in this mesmerizing night-time color and light show, and it was a magnificent way to end our night.
We had a full day and were thoroughly entertained and delighted with all that Animal Kingdom had to offer. Great family memories!
