SLS Las Vegas

On this cold winter morning I woke up to school cancellations and a winter storm warning. As I snuggled back under the warm covers all I could think about was how much I wanted to have some fun in the sun. My mind went instantly to.....Vegas baby!

I daydreamed for about a good hour before I decided to get up and make the kids some breakfast. During that time I realized I never shared the great deals I scored during my last Las Vegas trip with you guys.

One thing about Vegas, you can always find a deal, but you have to pay attention. This particular deal I'm going to share with you literally could be considered junk mail to some people because it was a flyer that came in the mail from the SLS Las Vegas. Some junk mail could be free money, so pay attention. We are both fans of the SLS and Starwood Preferred Guest rewards members and we've stayed there a number of times. My honey and I were heading to Vegas soon anyway, so I read the fliers word for word to make sure I took advantage of all offers before we booked. The deal allowed us to extend our trip by a day with no additional cost to us.

Each Offer Included:
One free night at the SLS
$5 free play slots
$10 table play
$10 free meal credit
Late check out 2 pm

The Room:

We were booked in a King room in the World Tower. It's not a suite or a super fancy room, but it has nice modern décor, it's very clean and the beds are comfortable.(We only used one free night, but could have taken advantage and both used a free night since we each received the flyer.)

The Food:

800 Degrees
Neapolitan Pizzeria

The wood burning oven thin crust Carni pizza with pepperoni, bacon and rosemary ham was $14.95. We paid $5.36 after using $10 dinning credit from the flyer.

I'm not a huge pizza person, but I loved this pizza and especially the rosemary ham.

In addition to the pizza we built our own salad with butter lettuce, chicken, cherry tomatoes, red onions, green peppers, pine nuts, olive oil and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for $12. We paid $2.17 after using the $10 dining credit Dre' earned on his SLS Club 52 players card.

The salad was so fresh and delicious that it didn't even need any salad dressing and I enjoyed tasting every yummy ingredient in each bite. Not like some prepared flavorless salads you get at some pizza shops. They don't skimp on size either, it was large enough to share.

Later we came back for gelato for dessert. This time I used a free $5 dinning credit I earned on my SLS Club 52 players card. I only paid $1.08 for our two small tasty treats. We had a scrumptious lunch for two and spent less than $10 total. How cool is that?

We enjoyed our free libations while playing at the casino and even won a few bucks that night after using our free slots and table play credits. We had a wonderful stay and a great time at the SLS. Let's just say we needed that 2 p.m. late check out.

I don't think a spring break trip is in my future, but if the snow would stop that would be great. In the meantime I'll keep daydreaming of sunnier times, unless I find an awesome deal that I can't resist. If you are planning a spring break trip don't over look those fliers, you could be throwing away free money.
