After our latest trip to Disney World all I can think about was just how freaking amazing the food was. No character dining, this was all about mommy. My husband being the sweetie that he is, he booked a special meal just for me at Epcot's Teppan Edo. For years I've wanted to dine at a Japanese steak house, but never took the opportunity.
From the time we arrived at Epcot we enjoyed strolling through the World Showcase. When we got to the Teppan Edo reservation desk in the Japan pavilion, we were in awe of the Japanese culture and beauty all around us. We marveled at the extravagant Koi pond. The kids enjoyed taking pictures on the grand stairs leading up to the restaurant, and I caught myself staring at the beautiful traditional silk Japanese kimonos the staff wore.
The restaurants color scheme was red, black and white, with beautiful Japanese Samurai murals on the walls throughout.
Once inside, we were led back to one of the private rooms with a grill tables on either side of the room. This was a truly wonderful dining experience. We had top notch service from beginning to end. After we were seated and our orders taken, the chef joined us and began preparing our meals at our table.
Our chef was so entertaining and funny, the kids were mesmerized to have a front row seat as our meals were diced, chopped and flipped. We were all pretty excited because this was the first time having our food cooked in front of us like that. Smelling the Japanese cuisine was intoxicating, but the show was absolutely amazing! The chief prepared my food first because of my food allergies and she was attentive and careful concerning my specific needs. We enjoyed shrimp, salmon, beef and chicken along with rice and fresh vegetables.
